Your thoughts are sooo normal, necessary and reminiscent of my own. CJ, my son, has many other health issues, and had already been through one unrelated surgery, by the time his cranio surgery was scheduled. We had no choice in the matter as he had multiple sutures fused and known intercranial pressure. It was the scariest day of our life, but also a day that almost instantly made a sick baby a little healthier. My son had his surgery on May 12th. He was 5 1/2 mths on the day of his surgery and weighed just shy of 8lbs. Since that time his overall health and wellbeing has improved dramatically. We had a fabulous team of doctors in Boston that educated us thoroughly, from anesthesia to blood loss issues. If my little guy can get through this surgery and be a happy, babbling, playful 10 month old, ANY baby can. She is going to be better than ever!!! Give it time but I assure you she will. By the way, my CJ will turn 1 on November 30th! Please write with any questions.
