Arthur DiPatri, MD

Dr. DiPatri earned his undergraduate degree from Rutgers College, Rutgers University in 1985 and his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 1990. He completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in 1996, including additional pediatric neurosurgical training at Boston Children’s Hospital. He went on to complete a dedicated fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, now known as Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Board certified by both the American Board of Neurological Surgery and the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery, Dr. DiPatri brings over 27 years of experience in caring for children with complex neurological disorders. His clinical expertise includes craniofacial surgery and craniosynostosis, pediatric brain and spinal tumors, and the surgical management of a broad spectrum of congenital and acquired conditions affecting the developing nervous system.

Dr. DiPatri is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the AANS/CNS Joint Section on Pediatrics, the American Society of Pediatric Neurosurgeons, and the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery. He is a fellow of both the AANS and CNS, and a specialty fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He has delivered invited lectures at numerous national and international conferences and authored dozens of peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters in the field of pediatric neurosurgery.

For more than two decades, Dr. DiPatri served as an attending pediatric neurosurgeon at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, where he was the neurosurgical director of craniofacial disorders. His career in neurosurgery has been guided by a commitment to combining technical excellence with compassionate, patient- and family-centered care. In the summer of 2025, he will join the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children’s Hospital as Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery and Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery for the Chicagoland Children’s Health Alliance.
