Dr. Boop earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed both his internship and residency from the University of Texas Health Science Center. Dr. Boop completed his pediatric neurosurgery fellowship from the University of Arkansas and his epilepsy and functional neurosurgery fellowship from the University of Minnesota. He’s board certified by the American Board of Neurosurgery and the American Board of Pediatric Neurosurgery. He’s co-director of Le Bonheur’s Neuroscience Institute and medical director of the Neurosurgical ICU, professor and chairman for the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and the Chief of the Division of Pediatric Neurosurgery at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Dr. Boop is a member of the Treasure of the International Society of Pediatric Neurosurgeons, Secretary of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and a board member of the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgeons. Accomplishments include being recognized in US News & World Report Top Doctors, American’s Top Doctors for Cancer, Memphis Magazine Top Doctors and American College of Surgeon’s Health Policy Fellow.
