Jonathan Martin, MD, FAANS is a board-certified neurosurgeon and pediatric neurosurgeon and a professor of surgery at Connecticut Children’s and the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He graduated from Bowdoin College with a BA in biology and received his MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. He completed his general surgery and neurosurgery residencies at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Oregon Health & Science University, as well as a neurosurgery residency at the National Capital Consortium. He then pursued a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at Children’s National Medical Center. He joined the UConn faculty in 2004 and specializes in complex spinal reconstruction, Chiari malformation, craniofacial surgery, and neuro-oncology. He has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on various topics in neurosurgery and has received several awards and honors for his research and clinical excellence. He is a fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Pediatric Neurosurgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, and the North American Spine Society. Providing excellent and empathetic care to his patients and their families is Dr. Martin’s top priority.
