Stéphane Braün, M.D., earned his medical degree from the University of Ottawa. He then completed a general surgery residency at Memorial University of Newfoundland, a research fellowship in microsurgery with Yale Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and plastic surgery fellowships at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the University of Toronto.
Braün holds multiple specialty certifications with the American Board of Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Surgery and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada (plastic and general surgery). He is a member of numerous professional associations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, the International Fetal Medicine and Surgery Society and he is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Braün’s clinical practice includes pediatric plastic surgery and fetal surgery. He is an active faculty member of the Vanderbilt Cleft and Craniofacial team and the Vanderbilt Fetal Center and Fetal Surgery team. He has authored numerous publications in these and other areas, and has participated in the training and development of fetal surgery specialty teams in the United States and internationally.
