Thomas M. Zervos, MD

Dr. Zervos is a pediatric neurosurgeon with expertise in the treatment of complex cranial and spinal conditions. His areas of specialization include brain and spinal cord tumors, hydrocephalus, Chiari malformation, tethered spinal cord, epilepsy surgery and advanced spine surgery for scoliosis, spinal deformities and spina bifida related malformations. He is among a select group of specialists nationally trained in both pediatric neurosurgery and pediatric spinal deformity surgery which allows him to provide a wide range of surgical and non-surgical options for children with spinal disorders.

Dr. Zervos is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the State University of New York. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Henry Ford Health in Detroit followed by a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and the Barrow Neurological Institute. He also received advanced fellowship training in pediatric spinal deformities at Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital.

An active researcher, Dr. Zervos has authored peer-reviewed publications, contributed to textbooks and presented at national and international conferences. His current research focuses on improving outcomes in pediatric scoliosis and developing innovative approaches to robotic assisted spine surgery.
