Our beautiful daughter, Lorelei, was born on November 2, 2010 following induction at 41 weeks. She had been breach from at least 19 weeks, and had flipped on her own by 37 weeks. On day one of her life, our pediatrician was suspicious for craniosynostosis, and x-rays were done to confirm his suspicion. After meeting with several specialists and talking with our pediatrician, we ultimately decided on cranial vault remodel surgery to be performed by neurosurgeon Mark Mittler and plastic surgeon Rachel Ruotolo, which was done at Cohen’s Children’s Hospital when Lorelei was 4 and a half months old. Following surgery, she regressed a bit, and wore a helmet from about 10 months old until 17 months old, and she is now a smart, funny, talkative, sweet, and ferociously tough little girl who gives her two brothers (and her parents!) a run for their money.
