Dr. Frim earned his undergraduate degree in Biochemical Sciences from Harvard College in 1981 and received a master’s degree in Physiology in 1986. He received his MD and PhD from Harvard Medical School in 1988. Dr. Frim served his internship in general surgery and residency in neurosurgery at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston from 1988 to 1994. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Neuroregeneration Laboratory at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Mass., and the Shillito Pediatric Neurosurgical Fellowship at Children’s Hospital in Boston.Dr. Frim is currently the Ralph Cannon Professor of Surgery, Neurology, and Pediatrics, and Chief of the Section of Neurosurgery, at the University of Chicago Medicine. He also serves as the Surgical Director of the University of Chicago Comer Children’s Hospital Pediatric Neurosciences Center.
