CAPPSKIDS Online Consultation and Second Opinion Program
Please remember that a second opinion based only on images and medical records is limited to what is contained in those files which you provide. It cannot replace an in-person medical evaluation from surgeon. As a result, the surgeon providing this service will not have the benefit of information obtained by examining your child and your child’s physical condition. Therefore, the physician may not be aware of facts or information which would affect the surgeon’s opinion of your child’s diagnosis and treatment options. We strongly encourage you to discuss the second opinion with your primary care physician.
If you would prefer to make an in-person appointment with one of the cappskids.org surgeons in our network for a second opinion, please select “request consultation” on that surgeon’s profile page or call the number on that profile.
To receive a remote Second Opinion, you must provide the name and contact information of your local physician who maintains an active medical license and practices in the state in which you are located. This can be the physician who gave you the initial opinion, or it could be your primary care physician or another physician involved in your care. We will provide the Second Opinion as a consultation to such physician with a copy to you. If you are located in the same state to which you are requesting a second opinion, you are not required to provide a local physician’s name and contact information (in which case we will provide the opinion only to you) but you may include a physician’s contact information if you wish. While we are in test mode you will notice that not all surgeons are available on the portal. If the surgeon that you want to consult with is not listed, please send a follow-up email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
